Ballard

Ballard is located in the northwestern part of Seattle and is bounded by Crown Hill in the north and Phinney Ridge/Greenwood to the East. To its West and South, expect to be greeted by breathtaking views of the waters from Shilshole Bay and Salmon Bay.

Historically, Ballard was almost exclusively Scandinavian and reminders of its origins still exist to this day. The newly open Nordic Museum (May 2018) is a great showcase for the culture and landscape of immigrants from five Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden plus their territories.

In addition to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, Ballard also boasts of one of the few year-round markets in the city - Ballard Farmers’ Market and, Golden Gardens Park, one of the few sandy beaches in Seattle is minutes way.

Ballard is also home to numerous Seattle’s highly-rated restaurants, including Bastille Café and Bar, The Walrus and Carpenter, Staple & Fancy, etc.
