Northgate

Northgate neighborhood actually comprises of four smaller areas – Maple Leaf, Pinehurst, Haller Lake and Licton Springs. The main attraction of the area is the Northgate Mall, the first so-called “mall” in America, built in 1950. Today, it remains a modern shopping center that draws shoppers from the northern end of Seattle and has many smaller shops and restaurants that have sprung up around it.

To the south of Northgate Mall is Northgate Transit Center, a hub for buses to and from downtown Seattle and the northern suburbs of the city. To its East, across from Interstate 5, is the North Seattle Community College.
