Fremont / Wallingford

Fremont is one of Seattle’s most unique / hippiest neighborhoods and is located between Lake Union and Ballard. It’s most infamous inhabitant is the Fremont Troll / Troll under the bridge, a public sculpture by four local artists inspired by Scandinavian folklore.

Fremont is also famous for its festivals and parades – Summer Solstice Parade, Oktoberfest, Outdoor Movies and so forth. Fremont Sunday Street Market is a popular favorite of many bargain hunters.

In recent years, Fremont has also become the preferred location for a number of companies, including Adobe Systems, Google, Tableau Software and Getty Images.

Wallingford is a North Seattle neighbourhood, directly East of Fremont. It has a more laidback vibe but its strongest appeal is its ability to preserve a community feel in an area that is minutes from the city center.

Wallingford’s busiest street is 45th street and is always bustling with activity. Wander along this street and you can expect thriving local eateries (Dick’s, Molly Moon) alongside fabulous restaurants (Tilth, Cantinetta, Art of the Table, Kamonegi).

Gas Works is its most famous Park and every July 4th, the area is packed with Seattleites picnicking and eagerly awaiting the fireworks display.
